Week 3

Ok week 3 is going by way faster. I meet a kid from Kentucky and he wrote me all the things we should know about Kentucky and all the different areas and places to eat and apparently his dad is dentist and he said that if I told him that his son sent me that his dad could help me out for free. So it was super cool and it was definitely a blessing. One of the sisters in my district went home this week because she was having health problems so I was kinda sad about that but I'm glad that she's going to be able to get better.

Spanish is coming along pretty good I keep practicing with my housemates. One of them is from Nicaragua and he is one of the nicest guys ever we've traded ties and after taking to him and getting to know him I learned that he surfs and I thought that was super cool. I ate some sausage that was no bueno so I've not been feeling so good but everything happens for a reason so I must have needed a trial lol. I'm sad that some of the latino friends that I've made and came into the CCM with will be leaving Monday. Elder piña and elder Martinez were some of the guys on my plane and have been helping me with spanish.

We got the opportunity to be able to go to the mexico temple and it was a super cool experience. It's been great getting emails and pictures from everyone. Koa is super cute and I miss simba. Even though it's a lot of work it's been great and I know that I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

My companion is super cool he's played piano since he was 5 and he's been teaching me about music and singing and the different parts of hymns so that's been really cool and we work really good together. Anyways until next week.

Please water my plant.

Week 2

week 2 day 10
Things have been going really good it is soo much fun here....
a lot of work but a lot of fun and my district has been doing
really well at achieving our goals for memorization and using
Spanish as much as possible. it has been great getting emails
from everyone and im glad that it is P day. The weather here
is exactly like back home so its great. At night you can hear
fireworks and gunshots but thats mainly on the weekends.
Also there is always some police sirens or emergency vehicles
going off just like home by the fire station. Ive already meet so
many people from all over and I've made friends some
lationo elders and its been great to have them correct my
spanish and I help them with their English and teaching them
words and phrases. I've been learning a lot about the gospel
and one of our roommates is well versed in the scriptures so
its been really cool to learn from him. We have 2 teachers,
one for the morning and one for the evening and they are both
super cool guys who are around Braidens age. We got
hermano martinez ( the teacher in the AM) to bring some ties
and we traded some with him and we wrote our names on the
back when we traded. Right now my favorite tie is the one that
Thad gave me ( I'm pretty sure it was Thad lol ) with all the red
flowers on it lol so if any one thinks they can top that one ill
gladly accept more ties once I get to Kentucky haha.
One thing that I keep getting reminded of this week is that
EVERYTHING  happens for a reason I know that
Heavenly father has put me with my companion for a reason
and that the people in our room, our house, and our district
were all meant to be here at this time and this place.

Anyways that's all for the general email so until next week.

Please water my plant lol.

Week One

Day 5 as a missionary in Mexico. The flight here was a about 3 hours and when we flew into mexico city you sound hot believe how big it is. Its bigger than any city I've seen in the US. The MTC or CCM (in español) is really cool and the people we have as teachers are really cool.

My comañero is elder Stevenson from highland Utah and I'm super lucky that I got a cool companion because we communicate really well and have a similar sense of humor. I was made district leader so I have a few extra responsibilities that just add to the chaos lol. There is so much that you are expected to memorize and read and learn and we have been trying to use Spanish as much as we can. But it is crazy how fast I'm acquiring Spanish and how much I'm learning.

I also realized that this is the exact time that I need to be out here serving a mission and that heavenly father put me with the people in my room of 4 people and my district of 10 people.

At night you can hear fireworks and gunshots but you feel like you are separated from the rest of the city.... yet right in the middle. Today is a half P day for our first week then the rest will be on Fridays. Here are some pictures that I took before I knew that we were not supposed to take pictures on non-P days lol . I'm going to try to get pictures with my roommates and district and other things and send them later. Let me know when I can call you.
